Twenty three years ago, we bought our B&B business La Croix du Reh in Châteauneuf-la-Forêt, near Limoges, Limousin, France. Not speaking a word of French at the time, our subsequent move to a new country was full off trials, tribulations and many mistakes. Learning from own experiences, we are now passionate about helping others with the difficult and stressful process of buying a property and settling abroad. For some 6 years, I have worked as a freelance estate agent for Century 21 and although I am no longer involved with buying or selling property, I still can advise on many issues, including :
- Introducing the local area
- Making a customised research of the property market in the region for you before your visit
- Advise on the process of buying
- Negotiating with estate agents and privately
- Dealing with the French authorities and bureaucracy
- Setting up bank accounts, insurances and utilities
- Finding professional translators for legal documentation
- Finding reputable and trustworthy home contractors
- Fully facilitating your French integration
- And more.
